Replace a logo in a Word document
Letterheads, proposals and templates often repeat the same logo in headers, footers and the body. RepLogo swaps every copy in your .docx file at once, so the whole document matches your new brand.

How to replace a logo in Word
Upload your .docx file
Drag your Word document onto RepLogo or choose it from your computer. Files up to 25 MB are supported.
Click the old logo
RepLogo lists every image in the document. Click the logo you want to replace.
Add the new logo
Upload the new logo image. It takes the old logo's place throughout the document.
Download your document
The updated .docx downloads automatically. Open it in Word, Google Docs or Pages.
Where logos hide in a Word document
In a letterhead, proposal or report, the logo is usually in the header, but it often appears in more places: a different first-page header, a header for each section of the document, the footer, a cover page, tables, text boxes or a picture watermark.
Inside a .docx file, all of these are pictures stored in the document. RepLogo checks every one of them at once and replaces each copy that matches the logo you clicked.
Replacing a logo in Word by hand vs. with RepLogo
In Word itself, replacing a logo means:
- Double-clicking the header, right-clicking the logo and choosing Change Picture.
- Doing it again for the first-page header if the document uses Different First Page.
- Doing it again for every section whose header isn't linked to the previous one.
- Checking the footer, the cover page and the body for more copies.
- Repeating all of it in every document and template.
With RepLogo it's one upload per file: click the old logo once, add the new one, and every copy is swapped in the same step.
How the new logo fits
The new logo goes into the old logo's frame, so its size, position and text wrapping stay the same, and the rest of the document isn't touched.
Because it fills the same frame, a new logo with a very different shape can look stretched. If your new logo is much wider or taller than the old one, add transparent space around it so the width-to-height ratio is close to the old logo's.
If the old logo was a PNG with a transparent background, the new one keeps its transparency. If the old logo was saved as a JPG, the new one is saved as a JPG too.
What RepLogo can't replace in Word
RepLogo swaps pictures, so it doesn't pick up logos typed as text or WordArt, logos drawn with shapes, or logos inserted as SVG icons.
If the document uses a second version of the logo, such as a smaller icon in the footer, that is a different picture. Run the downloaded file through RepLogo again and click the second version.
Google Docs and Pages
For Google Docs, choose File > Download > Microsoft Word (.docx), replace the logo with RepLogo, then upload the updated file back to Google Drive. For Pages, choose File > Export To > Word, replace the logo, and open the result in Pages.
